Save Helvetia is a coalition of farmers, business owners, concerned citizens, neighbors, and residents of the greater Helvetia, Oregon area who are working to protect the Helvetia community and its neighboring agricultural lands from unlawful uses.

Save Helvetia opposes legislative bills or other actions that erode or violate any of Oregon's land use laws.  We invite you to read about why Save Helvetia was formed and learn more about the Urban and Rural Reserves process that threatened our area.

Since 2014, we have seen an uptick in the number of legislative bills introduced at the legislature that are designed to circumvent these laws in order to force development of farmland for industrial or commercial purposes.  Read about the ways that citizens have kept Helvetia a place worth caring about.

In 2018, Save Helvetia became an affiliate of 1000 Friends of Oregon, in order to strengthen our ability to protect our area.  We invite you to learn more about 1000 Friends' efforts to conserve farm and forest lands and protect natural and historic resources across our great state.

Ways you can help

The threat is ongoing, and testimony and participation are often needed.  The best way to stay up-to-date is to subscribe to the Save Helvetia e-mail list.

Please consider making a donation to Save Helvetia.  If you would prefer to make a tax-deductible donation, you may contribute to our partner organization, the Helvetia Community Association (HCA), a cultural, educational, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to providing ongoing advocacy and education about the value of our rich cultural heritage, our natural resources and our family farms.  We invite you to learn more about HCA.

Thank you from all of us at Save Helvetia and the Helvetia Community Association.
